Just got home with our GM It has power steering and I'm wondering if there is a replacement steering wheel this one is really big and the bus steers just fine. |

jerry that steering wheel is the best size for the coach that you have and if you ever have trouble with the power steering fails while you are running you better hope the you have not changed out that wheel for a smaller one. i had a blowout at 60mph front driver side going through stockton cal. three lanes wide and it toke that big wheel a lot of musel and three lanes to keep it on the pavement. rember that the couch was desinged for manual steering and when they added the power they also added a lot of drag if it is not working which makes it harder to steer than manully. some day just try rolling the couch ahead slow and try steering without the motor running then you will love that big wheel like the rest of us. mel4104. |

I have to concur with the above statement. I had one of my power steering hoses blow while going up a pass. Without the big wheel, it would have been impossible to steer. It took all I had to steer the rig safely. I have driven 18 wheelers that did not have power steering and they were easier to steer than my bus after the hose blew. So if you want to keep moving after a powere steering failure, keep the same size wheel. Rod Cook '76 4905 GMC |
