Yeah, KEWL! And another way for the gubberment to peek into your habits, email, surfing, etc etc... Just another step for "homeland security"... By the way, any/all wifi systems can be set to record data. Once connected to a wifi network, you are part of that network. One should not transfer any sensitive data. Be very wary of downloading email as well, since passwords, etc are vulnerable. http://solution.ecn.purdue.edu/~simmons/ECN/Wireless/Security/DataSecurity.htm Ain't nuttin in life's dat free... |

Yeah, they may be monitoring my e-mail to see if I was involved in that Kennedy thing in Dallas when I was 10 years old! Or maybe they can decipher code words when I send an e-mail to my granddaughter telling her happy birthday. Read it backward and find out if John Lennon is really dead! Ya gotta watch those govmint guys! |

Oh well.... my tinfoil hat's crinkled again..... http://www.billofrightsinstitute.org/article.php?sid=389 Aside from my tin hat,,,, and those black helicopters flying above my house every day.... Some reading regarding Internet security and the lack of it on a WIFI system is in order, if you like to keep your business private and your email address secure. The point I tried to make prior to having rust settle into my skull, is that anything the Gov can access, so can anyone else. (and -you- did not take the Lindberg baby. The aliens did.) |

Hi Guys, just a heads up, I have a laptop with wireless, and every place I stopped on my travels last year with the bus, there were high dollar motorhomes (and some semi-trucks) with satalite wireles that I was able to connect into. Seemed every race track and bus park was hot, and very few were encripted. It's a lot cheaper to buy a $100 wireless scanner than a satelite system, and you don't have to pay the monthly fee. I use an encripted VPN for work stuff, and don't care if they see anything else I do online. Cheers, Dave PD4501-304 |

Not only is it free and available nearly everywhere you travel, but the speed is astronomical! I downloaded files at faster than 2 mbs! Most often, the speed is beyond what can be gained using DSL at home. I go to one of the -many- WIFI areas whenever I have to download a large file. But beware of the security risks, they are high. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vpn+wifi+risk There's nothing "funny" about having important data, passwords, credit card numbers, phone numbers and all other data you may have, taken and used by the unscrupulous... It's easier than you think. |

I have a wireless internet dish on my bus and right now there are two RVs parked next to me using WiFi off my system. Great speeds and doesn't cost them anything. |
