Needed a few parts for my RTS that Mohawk can't supply so contacted Midwestbus.com
Wrote an e-mail asking if they could cross reference my parts book numbers to their list.
No answer
Called yesterday and got an intermediary. I didn't get to talk to the 'man.'
Discussion went like this:
Can you cross my parts to yours?
Dunno. Let me go ask someone that can help you.
(Same person comes back)Do you have the original parts book with numbers for the bus?
Yes. Can you cross the numbers?
Hold on.
(same person)answer: He says if the numbers shown on our website don't match the numbers in your book we don't stock what you need. Have a nice day.

This company made no effort to assist with parts that have remained consistant thru the years on the RTS.

Now the question. Where do I buy RTS parts that do not seem to be available thru aftermarket suppliers?

Have you tried:

Prevost Parts (since the RTS was sold to NovaBus, which is now part of Prevost)

Luke 1-888-262-2434

MCI Parts (since they owned the RTS before Novabus)

HTH. . .

I am rather surprised at the lack of responce you received. I have never had a problem with them. What number did you call? I can give you a couple of contacts at Prevost and Nova/Roswell if you still need help. The Midwest parts catalog has the GM/TMC/Nova part numbers in it I believe and you can download it.

Many of these folks will think your "shopping" when you want them to cross part numbers for you.

There not willing to waste the time as you might decide to go elsewhere after you get the real part number.

Better to not worry about the last penny and call Luke and get your stuff immediatly.

Works for me,
