OK, I know this subject is a little different from the normal posts here, but may be usefull for us who want to or will want to put a golf cart in the bay. I've read on occasion of someone putting a cart in one of the bays, but usually had to modify the steering to make it fit. I guess I should have been paying more attention when the subject came up. It appears to me that a removable column would do the trick. Anyone out there with first hand knowledge about the technology required?

If it's a matter of clearance over the steering wheel you could replace the current one with a quick release type common in some race cars. Check with Speedway Motors in Nebraska or Summit racing or look in the yellow pages under race cars. Zoom zoom.

I have a golf cart in the middle bay on my GMC4905. I drilled a hole in the side of dash board and have a pin in the stearing column. Pull it out and it drops down the steering wheel nut is never on tight two quick turns and the wheel comes off. Also had to put a quick release nuts on seat backs so thay can be removed for cart storage. Put togehter and take apart time is about 3 min. Works great. Mine is a club car. Good luck and let us know how you do yours.
PS also had to remove back bumper to make it fit under bus.

I've done two- one was similar to Richard's, i.e. removable, and the other was done with a 3/8" socket set u-joint from my tool box. I fabricated a u-shaped bracket for the steering column to attach to the dash with a cross pin/hair pin to hold it up. Just pull the pin, and it folds down out of the way. The u-joint is just above the floor line. It has a fancy steering wheel from a go-cart! I too, had to remove the bumper and modify the seat backs. This one went in a GMC 4106, which has bays that are a lot lower than a 4905. ...JJ
