Prather,

I'd call Luke (1-888-262-2434)at US Coach. I think you'll find that there are different wattage heaters.

Luke can help you out to determine the one you need. Plus, he has them in stock.

NAPA was about $80 and Luke with shipping about $65. This was for the 1" pipe thread type. Do you need screw-in or bolt-in?

Thanks for all the responces, I bought the last one in SD from the DD dealer and the contacts burnt out. Niles it was 26 degrees the other day here in sunny FL. While the old 8V71 will start at that temperture I think my starter likes it better when I pre-heat.

you can buy block heaters for the 8V-71 from JEB Manufacturing (www.jjebheaters.com). They have models from 750W to 2000W. I've used a 2000W model for about 3 years. Works great. Easy to install: just mounts on the engine block in place of a factory access plate.
