Hi Guys, Been reading the string on cold weather, and Cincinnati got another 6 inches today, but I got shipped to Orlando yesterday so not complaining too much. I will be here through Saturday, anyone know of any good bus junk yards or bus conversion related places in the area where I could kill some time on Saturday if we get done early. I don't fly home to the snow until Sunday.
Cheers,

Dave you can always take a tour of the featherlite factory just east of O-town on I-4 IF your into viewing high dollar coaches! Other than that, your right around the corner from Mickey and nice little place called Old Town where they usually have an old car and hot rod show on weekends along with many shops to browse.

add this to your list of "must see"

Old fasion army/navy surplus - all sorts of neat stuff - they have damn near everything imaginable

http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/
few miles east of orlando - on your way to featherlite (now call Vantare)

just around the block from Vantare is - Millenium Coach - very similar operation

go another 20 miles east to Daytona Flea Market

There is also a unique old bus graveyard on US 1 in Ormond beach - The owner of the lot collects old busses and stores them there - most are rusting apart - he sells parts - will open his gates on saturday if you call - his name is Gordon - plenty of old GMC's - doubledeckers - scenic cruiser - you name it - he has one - call me if you want his # - Pete 386 672-0571

You "must see" any incoming "Grand Trifecta Of Dooms" as us bikers call them.

What's a "Grand Trifecta Of Doom"?

A little old lady, in a volvo, on a cellphone.

You better see 'em. 'Cuz sure as hell they won't see you, even in a bus!

Hey Dave, there is a bus yard i/2 mile from orlando airport on the Beeline west (SR528) they sell used coaches, no parts, and there is a ABC just north on hwy 50 in clermont. Gordens over in Ormond is the best but he used to close at noon sharp. Also saw a couple of bus shops just south of the airport on Orange ave towards the circus hdqts.

About Skycraft Parts & Surplus…….Great place for bus-nut to drool.

Yes by all mean if you need any hard to find and low cost regard to small parts (air cylinders, valves and gear-box as well everything in electrical).

Thanks to Pete to remind me.

One of Fast Fred pass favorite, who first told us about the place.

Do-it-self-er would not miss this.

For what it’s worth.

Thanks for the tips guys, now I need to figure out a way to make sure we get our meeting done early. Will try to take in the surplus shop, and Pete, I will try to call you tomorrow to get a number for the yard at Ormond Beach, that is only about 40 miles from here.
Thanks again

Just a quick follow up, and thanks for the tips. I was not able to make it to Gordons but did get to the Skycraft surplus. Great place. Picked up a couple of color back-up camera's, some junction strips, and a bunch of odd stuff. Really appreciate the tip guys, and good talking to you on Saturday Pete, sorry we did not get together. Back home in the snow of Cincinnati writing this so will need to wait to install the cameras, one in the back of the bus one in the trailer. Can't wait for the good weather.
Cheers,
Dave
