I just bought a GM 4106 and Would like to know if someone may have a word doc of the normal maint or things to check before a trip we plan on being on the road for 2-3 months at a time. Also how often should the bus be started between trips and what maint needs to be done in the off season thanks Jerry. |

DA Book has the normal service items and the location of all the lube points. Many itens {35 or so} need frequent checking , with many every 1500 miles. RL has a very nice pre -flight ,,OOOps I guess that should be pre ops list that he might post to the board. Long but complete, The GM drivers book also has a check list and a good description of all the switches and the function of eeverything the driver can get to. FAST FRED |

Hi Jerry, BNO recently published an "Article of Interest" (as alluded to by Fast Fred) called, "Daily Pre-Trip Inspection" by R.J. Long. Please feel free to print the pages of the article for your personal use, as permitted by the author. You may find this article at the following link. Regards, Ian Giffin www.busnut.com |

Jerry, You could also try Coach Information Network, www.coachinfo.com, for the operating manual. That's where we got ours. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 |

For Detriot Diesel books your DD dealer will be happy to take your cash. If you have a slushpump the DD guy can get the Allison transmission book , for your specific tranny. Da DD Book will be over $100, the tranny less, but still a $hock. The Coach chasis and electric wiring diagreams are a must. The drivers book is good , and the parts book has loads of drawings that show you how it was put together. Great folks like LUKE at US Coach can get you parts from a description , but its best if you have part numbers {even if outdated} if you deal with Big places. FAST FRED |
