Has anybody removed the door closer handle on mci 9? Do tuo use the air closer to keep door shut? |

I removed the rod and all. I still use the air lock. I also put a locking latch on. It works great. |

The air lock doesn't work after you sit a while and your air leaks out. You need a lock to secure it when your'e out of the coach. marc |

It saves a lot of work if you put the deadbolt in the opposite way to normal. Buy a long throw deadbolt (about 6" long) and mount in the door post with the locking mechanism to the rear of the post. Then you just have to make the recess for the bolt in the door edge. |

I spent some time in a nearby bus lot a couple weeks ago and one of the things I noticed is how clean and nice the stock MCI deadbolt is. After seeing a couple, I would not even try to fit a household deadbolt. The MCI units use a SS bolt about 3/8" square, and the face of the lock fits almost flush. I bet Luke has these. I too, removed all the door closing hardware including the handle. Makes for a much cleaner dash. I kept the air lock for over the road use. It's amazing how well that claw sucks in the door!
