I have heard of N timing on the 671 dd, and am wondering if it is worth doing, and how to do it. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim Wilke

The engine probably came "N" (normal) timed.

Some guys "A" time the engine. This consists of advancing the cam gears one tooth. (there are two sets of marks) This requires you to remove the trans, flywheel & gear/bell housing to reach the gears.

A whole lot of work if there aren't other reasons to "go in" there.
