Does anyone know the meanings of the digits and letters of Eagle's serial numbers. Maybe unlike cars, they have no meaning at all.Thank-you |

I said serial number but I should have said VIN #.My bus Vin # is 1-EUAN6A1XEH and then 6 digits.Yes, I believe those last six numbers are the order of buses manufactured. I am wondering about the EUAN6A1XEH. Like a educated quess, one A stands for Auto Trans, I have a 6-V so maybe the 6 is for the 6-V92 ??? This information would be helpful in looking for other busses. I am a new charter operator. I wish I found this website 2 years ago. Sure would have made things more easy for me. Thank-you |

Ron...before they made your bus, they had made 6,265 buses....Roger...they must have changed things...I think you could take those numbers & do a check, like most people can,and find out alot of it's history, who it has been registered to,wreck history, etc. AND ...I think R.J. can give a little history on both,my bus was based in Amarillo ,& did the run to Las Vegas.. |

Roger, There is a Yahoo Group call Eagle_Bus where you can get lots of Eagle information. In the Files section is a folder with Eagle production information that gives each serial#, when it was manufactured, and mostly who it was first delivered to. I have somewhere the explanation of the VIN# but I will have to hunt for it. Tom Hamrick 1984 Eagle 10S |
