I'm looking through my sevice manual and can't find anything on leveling system but found ride hight which is independant of each side and front to back. although it would seam kinda strange that all of them on one side would be out of adjustment. I found in my parts book a section on air leveling but not in maintanance manual. also no pictures for me to figure out if they are the one and the same

Ride height and the leveling valves are integrated.

You must adjust the leveling valves in order to set the ride height correctly.

Typical air-suspension has two leveling valves on the rear axle, and one on the front. Some coaches have the opposite arrangement, like the IFS RTS.

All three must be adjusted per DA BOOK's section on adjusting the ride height.

Best done over a pit.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GET UNDERNEATH YOUR COACH WITHOUT BLOCKING THE BODY CORRECTLY. ESPECIALLY WHEN WORKING ON THE AIR SUSPENSION!!

On my Prevost the two are not related.

I was describing a stock, OEM system, as delivered on 99% of air-suspension equipped coaches.

If the two are not related, how do you adjust the ride height on your Prevost? What model?

The procedure for adjusting the ride height is in Section 14, pages 2 & 3 in the 4905 Maintenance Manual (X-7564).

On the Prevost the ride height is regulated with a single valve in the front and a valve on each side in the rear. There is an arm on each valve that pivots up or down to add air to the air bags or exhaust air depending on which is required. To adjust the ride height the arm is adjusted up or down a threaded shaft as necessary to adjust the height. It is more difficult to explain than it is to adjust.

The leveling function is capable of over riding the ride height leveling valves by selecting a "manual" position on a three way switch or an "automatic" position. The third position is "road" to be used when driving.

In the manual mode the airbags at either rear corner or the front can be raised or lowered about 4 or 5" either way from the normal ride height. In this way you can level the coach on uneven ground.

The automatic mode does the leveling automatically when placed in that position and it is used by those challenged by reading a level.

The leveling system on the Prevost is factory installed and called "Level Low", but the automatic portion is a converter installed feature.

The levelling system uses a multitude of Norgren spool valves located in many places on the coach, including in the compartment under the driver. This portion of the sytem is a pain to keep leak free, but when it works it is great.

I have two (want one?). A 1987 and a 1997. Both are the same.
