If you stick something else on the back of a pusher, it blocks engine access...unless...you can swivel it out of the way?

The motorcycle trailer core for this would run $2k or so. Even if the cost to do this mod ran 3k+ or a bit more, the ability to do this at all to one of the plentiful and killer-value 4104/4106 types would make it worth it to me!

Towing a trailer on top of this would be flat impossible. Not a problem for me. This "thing" can be unbolted and stored to allow real trailering or do an engine removal or whatever.

Total unit length would hit maybe 42ft. Doesn't bother me. And yeah, the back of the garage would need additional lights and a licence plate mount.

Does this look doable?

lots and lots of weight back there for a rig with no frame rails. you should put in a liftable tag to take the weight off. lots and lots of work and then some more work

Just buy the postal Crown, Jim. Or some other tricked-out Skoolie... bookmobile, blood bank, etc. They come up occasionally on the e-place for a relative steal to the $ someone has into them, since they're so specialized (no market for 'em).

Sounds like you need the back end free to do your hauin', and you'll just fight with a rear-engine coach to meet your needs.

Jim i seen a GM coach that a guy just had to have some more space so he added a 2 ft platform to the back over the bumperand he was very happy with his workmanship when he was completed, how ever about 3,000 miles later he found rivits were starting to pop and the back end was getting lower to the ground as the extra weigh was breaking the bus at the rear bulk head. i wished that i had taken a picture of it at the 8,000mile mark just before it went under the scrap crusher as it was not worth trying to repair due to cost. so if you do add on and this happens to you could you please take a picture of it and post it here on the board so the rest of us can see what happens, tks

Ah.

Gotcha.

OK, postal is still plan "A", modded mid-motor skoolie is plan "B".

I'd just buy a trailer 14 or 16x 7 or 8 wide. I don't know what kind of bikes you ride...or how old you are.

You’ll have to ride the bike up a minimum of 3 ft to the floor of the bus and if you're ride a street bike it will probably hang up on the top transition from the ramp to the floor (that lot’s of fun when you’re by yourself or with the wife). Also the older you get the less likely you’ll want to ride up a 30+ deg incline into the back of the bus, great way to ruin a holiday dumping the bike on yourself, taking in or out of the bus.

With a trailer these are not an issue. Plus a trailer you can have fold down bed in the front for others to sleep in, giving you more room in your bus, so aren’t so cramped, as you have it laid out now and you won’t be limited to what style of bus you want to buy.

One other thing, if you’re into bikes, you’re into probably into speed. So get a 6V92TA engine, minimum, or you won’t be happy. I took 2 short trips with my 8V71 and that was enough for me, it was pulled and a new 475hp 8V92TA went in. We haul a 16 ft trailer with 4 Harleys and friends, the trailer doubles as a hauler and bunkhouse
