Okay I have already figured out why the Non-bus husband stays at the funeral home all the time. If I was married to her I would never be home. Now as far as the bus. Looks like the invertor is upstairs behind the dining table, and the bath room is strange. (not bad nor good) On 2nd thought I would have to divorce the other one also. HE IS A BUS NUT AND IF HE IS NOT HERE HE NEEDS TO BE! |

Grrr. I wish this had been fictional so I could say something, but I'd better not. ALL my exes live in Texas. He should have made a real effort to update his website with the traffic I"m sure will be coming his way. |

[rant warning] Now, I could be a pig, too, and rag on the wives, but it’s the bus guy that came across as a world-class di*k. As a Dad, I was just outraged. His girls were miserable, slipping in their studies, craving for friends and a social life, and he’s got them off touring the country for 2-1/2 years. When they try to tell him what they need -- he just shuts them down. And did you see how he shut his wife down, right when they were really getting to some truth?! Man, the wheels were coming off of that family right before our eyes… pardon the pun. The funeral guy actually made a change and decided to spend more time with his kiddos, while there is still time to have relationships with them. Good for him. Now.. the Swap show was just a speed bump to the bus guy. Bussin’ is a hobby, not a mandate. The dude’s obsessed. His family is payin’. And who needs “moral support” to dump a freaking black tank. Puss. I hope that guy doesn’t come around here… Brian “Don’t really care about his 9 at this point” Brown [did I warn 'ya about the rant?] |

Well, I had to get off of here to watch that. Andre is more appropriately a nut, not a Bus Nut. Hanging that ugly a-- Trace on the wall behind the dinette and that's just for starters. Appeared that the roof A/C were positioned backwards. I guess he thought that would give him more air-flow going down the road. Wonder what the air pressure of 70mph does for that little condenser fan w/reversed air flow. It was also fairly obvious that he didn't think much of the idea of work. And it's perfectly alright to raise 2 of the dumbest kids in the country that obviously yearned for an education, of any kind! The comment from my wife when Andre was chastising the undertakers wife about following him down the stairs was: "You got it, as I put my foot in the middle of his ass from the top step." Digger O'dell was the sanest and most reasonable one of the bunch. |

Hey Guys, Let'$ all remember that it wa$ a TV $how. What the producer$ are looking for is rating$. And they know, the more controver$ial the $how more people will watch it. I think it's a dumb show regardless of what family is on the show. Glenn |

No, they were Coleman A/Cs. Had the Coleman Mach profile and you could clearly see the condensors placed fwd. I'm pretty sure of what I saw but admittedly it was just a momentary shot. However, have to agree w/Glenn. It is a dumb show as are most network tv productions. I just can't relate to people doing things like this for any amount of money, and to have it broadcast Worldwide to boot. If these people are mainstream or average, then I'm even more proud to be a 'radical' liberal! |

Oh God. This is about the Left's war on homeschooling. They quite deliberately picked a stenchful example, OR they made the situation out to be worse than it is...I neither know nor care. Ponderponder... OK. Y'all ain't gonna *believe* this one. I was once called to be a guest on a TV show. It was supposed to be part of a series of debates (I was told titled "The Debate Show") on various issues for "MTV", which sometimes does stuff like this in an election year so it didn't seem too unlikely. Well they lied about pretty much everything. It was for the "MTV network" - specifically Comedy Central, show title "Crossballs". What they were doing was getting two activists together on each side of an issue and then without telling them, setting up two improv comedians to act as their "allies" and take the show into the realm of the completely bizarre. How bizarre? Well lesse...I had this utter lunatic tell me he's got something that I can use instead of my "gun addiction" and hands me this weird thing...and as I'm examining it in front of a national TV audience, puzzled, I realize it's a penis pump. Grrrrrr. Based on how they'd lied on the release they had me sign, I was so pissed off I had a lawyer freind write a nastygram telling 'em I'd sue their pants off if they aired that episode. They (Viacom) backed down and now it's gathering dust somewhere, thank God. Point here is that the TV biz has some real scumbags in it. |

BRIAN, While i may agree with you on most of your ravings the part about" slipping in their studies, craving for friends and a social life, and he’s got them off touring the country for 2-1/2 years. When they try to tell him what they need --" i tottally disagree with that as an overall statement. I homeschool my kids and TAKE them with us on our ministry travels around the country in a 1957 GMC 4104. My kids at 17,16,14 dont KNOW what they need. they sometimes grumble about life on the road, but they will admit that they have seen more of the USA than anyone else. They will also be a heck of a lot smarter, both book and street smart for this life education that they get on the road. I alsoi spend more time with my kids than most fathers do in a lifetime, because they travel with us and are always there. Do they miss friends sure but in the summer they take turns bringing thewm with us. Just my humble opinion, this works for me. morgan clough www.outreachacrossamerica.com |

It may have been the producer's point on home schooling, but not this liberal's point. What I gathered was that they were not getting any type of education, other than sightseeing, and in most civilized areas of this Nation, that is not legal, as well it should be IMHO. Parents do not enjoy an inherant right to intentionally deprive their children of their rights, and an appropriate education is their right. Apparently their home base, if that is what u want to call it, was Fl. Fl. appears to have a well deserved reputation for child welfare laxity and neglect. I'm willing to venture that the filming of this program led to the involvement of some child welfare agency and that is why the conclusion very pointedly made the point that these 2 young girls were now in an organized educational program. If for no other reason, I applaud the program for that. |

James, There IS a sort of "war" going on against homeschoolers. Not saying you're part of that, and I'm also not saying there shouldn't be checks made to ensure that it's working. There is however an effort underway to exterminate the entire concept and that's wrong - and it's the sort of mindset Hollywood would tend to play up. |

Morgan, Please don't misunderstand. My railings were NOT against homeschooling, or even having kids travel around in a full-timing environment. In fact, I homeschool one of my kiddos and he loves it. He's gifted, and we can give him more here than the public school system. And he probably would love living in a bus fulltime, if we could swing it… and the rest of the gang was “onboard” with it. My railings were against THIS family we saw last night. The kids were NOT being actively schooled, other than the one of hard knocks. When they did go to a public school, briefly, the girls admitted to being behind in their studies. And, yes, I agree that the parents are always the ones to determine their children's needs. But we saw several instances of the kids trying to tell Dad what theirs were and he refused to even listen. In Andre, I saw someone belittling, overbearing, chauvinistic, insensitive, and more than a bit childish. The bus sojourn was HIS dream... and everyone else was along for the ride, whether they wanted to go or not. Now, one can say, "It's all in the editing." But watch it again. I edit video as part of my living. And you can't create the things people do and say. Now, you can edit out a lot of moments that don't match the "spin" you might try to give. And you can edit in people at their weakest or worst. But, to me, it's about a pattern of behavior and character. I think we got a good enough glimpse into Andre to see that he wasn't an honorable man doing right by his family. You, Morgan, and others like you, probably are. Yes, kids don’t always know what’s best for them. But to be a preteen girl growing up on a bus with little privacy, no friends, no regular place to call home, no support system, and a father that is like Andre… to me seemed a little like child abuse. Just my opinion, albeit a fairly strong one, Brian Brown p.s. I refuse to enter the "conspiratorial" debate about homeschooling. We've received plenty of support and encouragement from our local school system and don't see that eroding, but improving every day. |

Brian, What state are you in? In California, I can tell you a real horror story happened to a family I know...bad enough they got over $400,000 in a Federal civil rights suit. |

I was a high school and junior college teacher in the past. I also homeschooled one of my kids. Depending on the parents, homeschooling can be a good thing, but there are lots of parents that do it that are just not competent enough. Actually, I would say that parents are often the biggest obstacle to their children's education both within and outside of the organized school system. |
