Dear Bubba Busnut This procedure is specific as to generator or alternator and in some cases, the type of bus. If you can provide more information I will compose a reply. |

I assume you are talking about a GM coach with a generator (not alternator). The procedure is quite simple. All the relays, lights, switches and motors are not polarity sensitive. The only things that need changing are the guages (oil, temp and charge indicator) and the alarm buzzer rectifier. Other than that it's a simple matter of changing the battery connection and reflashing the generator fields. There is a procedure in the manual for that. |

Bubba, Even with a alt, there are ways to convert to neg from pos. Some are simple and some are almost impossible. Post again with numbers from your charging unit so I can determine what you have. |

IF your a member of FMCA they had a very complete and detailed article , years ago , that they will send FOR FREE . While your at it ask for their old series on Bus Conversion, all done the old way , as simple and as functional as can be. NO mobile Mansions or BESTITIS, but great info. They now have a web site , and you can either request the re-print there , or if there is enough demand , they might post it. I have the article , but with only FREE juno, have no web storage , so if the FMCA isnt a help , it can always be copied and snail mailed. FAST FRED |
