I was driving back from Milwaukee today after putting on another alternator and finding what I realy need is new voltage regulator. Was happy to hear that was all I needed and could be fixed tommorow. almost home tooling along and notice motor losing power then taking off again doing this every so often. got into stevens point and stopped for fuel and the alternator had seized up. out of fuel and wouldn't restart motor can't turn over. God I hope I didn't take out my drive train.

I don't recall what u have or all of your problems, but there are two approaches here that I see. One is bail while the bailing is good. It is generally not sound thinking to throw good money after bad.

The other is abandon this piece-meal approach to putting a bus on the road. Park it, go thru it, and fix it to a reasonable level of reliability. Otherwise, refer to one.

Kinda harsh, Airless! Give the poor guy a break. Ron, Jim M. gave you good advice. If it were me, I would get that bus over to Luke's. Get it gone thru. Isn't it worth the piece of mind? Sorry to hear of all the crap happening to you, Ron. That being said, I have to agree with Airless- I am glad it's not me. Hang in there buddy, Bob

Hi Ron,

1. "motor losing power then taking off again"
Could be fuel filters.

2. "alternator had seized up"
Have the alternator rebuilt (bearings) or get a new one.

3. "motor can't turn over".
Could be batteries or battery connections.

Good luck,
Glenn

Best place for rebuilding your ALT if you want it done right.
Im not sure but I had problems with one of there phone numbers .

You need to find new machanic.
Sounds like you turned a bus that should go hundred of thousands of miles without any problems into a junk pile. Find someone that knows how to work on buses fix it right and bedone with it.
I think Captain is pushing it now . You maybe demoted to Deck hand.
