Bought new LED lights for tail, turn, hazard, brake and back up lights. Also bought a new LED flasher to go along with the LED's. But my old flasher had only 2 connector tabs. The new LED flasher has 2 connector tabs and an extra wire with a Y terminal. Where do I connect the Y terminal? Is it a ground? |

The old flasher used the bulbs resistance to control the rate of the flash. The New flasher has a resistor inside to take the place of the bulb resistance so you need an additional connection. If I remember right, it is for the ground. there should be a diagram of it, if not on the flasher or packaging, on a web page site. Its a really simple circuit, you should have little problem figuring it out. cd |

Standard three terminal flashers are for those vehicles which have turn signal bulbs which alternately flash for indication. Started in the 70s with the end and side bulbs flashing alternately to indicate a turn. |

Speaking of alternately flashing signals. I want to put signals on my silversides, problem is I cant find a LED that is small enough to fit the reflector holes in the bus. I just put some bumper markers on for my dad and they had a single filiment bulb with two wires one hooked to the running lights one to the turn signal. When the lights are on the signal alternates when they're off the flash the same. If I use a marker light (it will fit) and hook one wire to the running lights and one to the turn signal will that do the trick? It would make it ground through the other circut and I know that can do funny stuff but will it be the right funny stuff? |
