Gumpy posted a response to one of my posts around 4ish this morning, so it was working then. (I know this because the posts are still viewable if you go in through the direct article URL). However, at the moment, the index is down, and the scripts that allow posting are not working (I tried to post a reply to one of my own posts). I would guess that this is a routine script failure, which, as James points out, happens with some regularity. -Sean | ||

Clunky site anyways. Hard to read the posts the crude way they're strung together and threaded. No archive. Nothing at all like the elegance here! Content-wise, lots of trolls and flamers... many people more apt to be rude than helpful. It’s never felt like a community the way it does here at I@n’s place. Good riddance. BNO forever! Same as I dislike BNO plastered all over the MAK board when something goes wrong here, with all the speculation that I haven't paid the ISP and other such nonsense, I think it would be considered appropriate to not do the same here. Please remember that MAK is the grandpappy of the conversion information delivery world. I still consider myself to be a guest in his domain. Although today may be a grim day for scripts operating on his server, tomorrow he could have a shiny new something-or-other that might make me lose all of you. Which would likely kill me, as those of you who know me, know it would. When someone is always looking at your front door, 24/7/365, and suddenly you find yourself accidentally standing there buck naked, it's hard to recover from some of the nasty things the children say in the schoolyard. Try it some time, folks, especially those of you who have brought up criticisms of the MAK board today. Thanks, folks, for being here, but let's stay focussed. Remember where we all came from to enjoy where we are today. And let's look the other way while the other guy put his clothes back on. He's fine. And so is his board. Am I right? Hi Ian & Folks: Just realizing there was a problem, I called Mak and they are aware of the problem and feel that their Board will be back up tomorrow. Ian, thanks for expressing your reasonable, rational thoughts on the matter!! Now, I can't help but wonder how many folks will take it to heart, and "think", before they commit their fingers to the key board??? IAN Your comments are spoken like a true gentleman. It is easy to see why this board is all class, its run by a class moderator. Of course, we already knew this, didn't we guys? I visit MAK 1 out of the 7 times I log in at BNO so I was unaware of their calamity. Pehaps they shall be back up soon. One thing with BNO, since the board is always there, I think it is easy to take for granted how well it is run. Look at its longevity and all the wonderful offerings, especially the Archives and Chat provision. Come here IAN so I can pat you on the back, some how "THANKS" just isn't enough. cd | ||
