Haven't been able to find where to read up on repair or rebuild of my hdy fan drive, Seal is just starting to seep at fan hub. A couple a yrs ago the gasket seeped where unit splits by converter housing, I slid it apart slightly, put some silicone in and bolted back ,it is still dry. Fan hub has no in parts book so can we get it off and pry out seal? Hope someone knows as I have this old "road oiler" almost dry underneath. Thanks Jim |

Hey Jim Yes you can take the hub off. But you will have to split it apart at the middle where you said you had sealed it. The front part where the hub is at is much easier than the back. The back can give you alot of problems, if that's your first taking it apart. Once you split the tortus, you'll see it will be fairly ease to remove the hub. And if I am not mistaking you will only need to replace a seal and an O-ring. Be carefull when putting the two halves together, not to block the oil port from one halve to the other. And I think Luke @ US Coach has the parts you need. PS I am talking about the fan hub and not the A/C out put hub. If you want to remove the A/C out put hub, you can by removeing the bolts. And what I did was, manufacture a plate to cover the hole with sealent. If I can be of anymore help let me know AL. |
