Dose anyone have any info. on an allison HT70 transmission. I would like specifications torque, horse power rating and how many speeds. I would assume the horse power and torque rating may have been different acording to customer spec. but I can not find any info. on the net about this model. any info. would be appreciated. Thanks . Tim,
The HT70 is the predessor to the HT740 series. It has 6th as an overdrive and according to those in the tranny business I asked, it is basically built proof. One was for sale for well under a $1000 on Ebay last week, not sure what the final was. I have seen MCI coaches with 8v92T and the HT70 doing very well.
The 740 is a 4 speed with lock-up convertor which makes it feel like a 5 speed. The 750 series is a 5 speed version with either a low first (HD) or an extra ratio in the middle (HT), depending upon which model you buy. There are various electronic versions available too.
There is a lot of info on the 740 but you have to look for it within independant company websites as Allison has little to none.
Email me direct if you need more info as I don't monitor this board much these days, too much to do with my conversion at the moment.
Peter.
