Need ideas on my voltage problem in a 1984 Eagle 10 6V92. After 40,000 miles of driving the voltage gauge goes up to 15 and comes back down to 13 again. It does it after 50 miles or so and then it works fine for awhile. I changed the belt, cleaned the battery terminals, and had the alternator checked out. The voltage climb is gradual. |

IF the gauge and wiring check good. The reg. is the only thing that will let the voltage go above set limits. If the belt, terminals and alternator would have been the problem you would see lower voltage or lack of charging. Have the regulator checked out. Sounds like once the batteries have a surface charge after starting the bus the reg. is not catching it at the set point until it warms-up. Suggestion: I would check the reg out when it is cold. Your book should have a check-out procedure. tony |
