I just took my radiator in to "Perfomance Radiator" to have it re-cored.
05 Eagle 8V71..10 speed The tanks are in good condition....( $1,100 Estimate )
I would like to know the DISTILLED water gallons and the Detroit antifreeze gallons that I will need. Thanks......Ken

"holy shhh..." Is why I am going to use Distilled WA WA and Detroit antifreeze.I want it to outlast me. HHmmm I'm 74 in May ! Ice cubes could do that !!!!!

36 gallons total.....know it is supposed to have a Detroit aditive but don't know what or how much...Jim mcI could tell you ,or Luke

One of the hassles of SCA is it leaves a film on all engine parts.

Great when the cylinders ring and the SCA absorbes the cavitation rather than your $$$ cylinders disolving.

BUT the slyme is through out the entire cooling system in places where it is not being eaten by cavitation.

Like the radiator and cylinder heads ,
so the need to perodically remove the old gunk with an agressive 2 part cleaner and flush, flush flush.

I have always thought many of the engines lost to overheating would still be in service , if the cooling system had not been ignored, almost forever.
