Y'know, I saw this amazing documentary on Cuba the other day, it was all about keeping the 50's American cars (which make up 25% of the automobiles there) going. There was this guy that makes massive steel molds for the windshields of all these old beasts ... He takes flat automotive tempered glass, cut to width and length, lays it carefully over the mold and wheels it into an oven. The glass then relaxes over the mold and Viola, curved windshield! Pretty ingenious... Of course, when one guy showed how he makes brake linings from scratch in the course of which he sifts asbestos fibers... YIKES! |

http://www.curvedglassdist.com/busglass.html I spoke with them and asked them who in central florida installed thier glass. I just wanted to get an idea of what it cost others so I would know I am not getting ripped. I had heard rumors of $150 per windshield, but not sure if that was installed or not.Lin |

You COULD get ripped, my glass guy also had heard $150.00 per for installation but did mine for a hundred bucks total, Easy as pie, didn't take an hour for both sides, included all sealants and all.>>>Dan |

Mine installed both windshields and resealed the "D" windows for $80. I bought the glass from a local Prevost bus line for $100 each. Remember, all GM intercity windshields from 1953 to 1980 are the same. Same glass used on many 96" Prevosts and the "unique" Prevost side windows. They are common and cheap. Jim Stacy |
