For those of you bus nut, if not already insulate your shell, need to tour several great Torquester’s “Insulating” photos. http://members6.clubphoto.com/tim393476/guest-1.phtml It about whether to go to “Do-it-self Cold Foam Kit” or professional come in to “Hot-Foam”. Remember it look all too easy to think kit type will save you money until you have experience it. Some of you had purchase more to finish or left it. It better than nothing. More then likely after done it will cost the same as professionals. Still not as strong as Hot-Foam type. However a professional knows when to stop applying to get proper thickness after an hour or more of curing & cooled. To be a good professional is doing about 5 or 10 van bodies to learn limiting mistakes. It craftsman or work of art with your mind & hands. They are finish when it about ½” base thickness in the beginning will equal about 1 ½” thick cooled. It have time factor so it not over applied. It your money do whatever you choose! This how Jack Conrad’s “Orange Blossom Special II” done because I was there watching 2 professionals doing the messy work. One guy in trailer to keep boiler and 2 chemical flows while other guy in suit spraying. Me doing it! No way! I am too old to handle & learn fast working projects. I haven’t mentioned toxic fume yet!…….Oh well I think you know what it mean! I CRINGE whenever someone post, wants to purchase “Cold Foam Kit”. It what make life interesting! We (me too) learn from mistakes to do better next time. FWIW Don’t ever think I don’t learn how to do my project easier & better at reasonable cost by looking thru this board. Thanks all of you helping me & others to make our goal to come to reality. Thanks Torquester…your help. Thanks J@n! (owner of board) Sojourn for Christ, Jerry |

Jerry, Do you mind me asking how much the service costs? It looks like they did a great job. I haven't pulled any panels off my bus yet. Does anyone know whether there is any factory insulation in a 1970 Gillig 636D? Gillig-Dan |
