ive heard a few different things other then switching the diodes...does anyone know how to convert a 4501 to neg ground? thanks pete |

just do it... the repolarize.....you've got a generator instead of an alternator, right???? |

Pete, i spent 3 years before we changed over our GM from + to - ground. We had a Leece Neville alt. We just had to change over the leads and replace the oil and water guages on the dash. the alt. had + and - leads so that was easy. Im pretty sure you can find something in the archives. There was a article in the Feb 1994 issue of Bus Conversions that outlined the diode change over if you are keeping the generator. For us the dreading was worse than the changover. |

the two wires on the amp guage need switching & alt.changeover----other than that...radio ,if you have one |

If your a FMCA member they have a series of articles from many years ago describing in detail the conversion on a pos ground 4104. Should be close enough for you. FREE from their reprints section. FAST FRED |

Jim,its an alt.. so the diodes get switched over.. there is no amp gauage..what about the speedometer..the rest are idiot guages.. im looking in the archives now thanks pete |
