We bought a '72 Eagle 05 bus and got it to the first stage of the trip home. We're having problems with the air but think it's the seals in the valves. David will tear down valves and look for leaks before bring home. The engine temp is staying between 190 and 210...Is this okay? We bought a "Bus Maintenance Manual" from the previous owner but need a book that tells us WHERE everything is, what it is and what it does. What would this book be called and where might I start looking for one at? Also the bus has no bumpers and we need to replace at least one basement door handle. Any ideas of where we might locate parts. The bus is currently in Western NC but we hope to bring it home this weekend to Eastern TN. I can't find my downloaded copy of an article that was on BNO Articles of Interest...It was on making a two piece door into a one piece door. If anyone has this could you please send it to us via e-mail?
Thanks
Lorna

Hi Lorna,

Congratulations on the purchase of your new bus!

The article you are looking for is called "One Piece Entry Door for the Eagle Bus" by Dave Galey. It appears on Zane Good's RV-Coach Online, in his "Articles of Interest" section. You can find it by clicking here.

Call Gary Dean of Dean's Coach --- he has all the manuals and has good advice and I have found him willing to share. He has a large bone yard as well.
I built my one piece dood from scratch. Daves's article is good and works if one has a good core. When U taker yours apart I hope U find a good core. The bottom 2/3's of mine was shot. I have pics and most of the article on how I did mine almost complete.
I got the new skin I needed from Gary Dean.
If I can help let me know

Give me a call at 964-590-1446. I am in upstate SC, which is very close by. I have two model fives, and have some bumpers etc. extra. Also may be able to help with the air problem, as I was there recently. Eric Brown
