A friend looking for an exhaust manifold for my 8V71 @ a DD dealership Seattle/Tacoma area, mentioned that he (the dealer) had a rebuilt ? 6 cyl pancake engine....CHEAP...CHEAP.. If interested email me and I will find the address/phone #. I put this up on the board because this might be hard to find for some one that needs one |

Nobody wants to ship pancake mills because they are soooss flat there is no height to them and the shippers can't charge by the cubic foot. I do remember years ago a pleasure yacht that had twin turboed pancake Detroits. It was soosss cool seeing how flat they were. 400hp each. Yeah Ron, I can understand the problems and $expense$ of swapping mills in a Crown. Going to 400hp seeems (hugh?) to be easy as they... ...made lots of Big Cam Cummin's 400's. Only a few 475's were made, thus the higher expense of the used parts, such as pistons... ....(lower compression), the injectors, (bigger) camshaft, pump, balancer, a replacement single turbo, exhaust manifold, an adaptable... ...intercooler, opened intake, exhaust, spark arrestor, blah, blah, blah. Are we having fun yet? All it takes is $$$ and a lack of common sense. Anyways....servicable used parts remain cheap...new parts are very expensive. Can i have my wine now?? CROWNS FOREVER!! |
