I have a 1984 Prevost and I need to do some work under the bus. Where do I place the jacks and stands to safely work? Bill |

The Prevost book will have the info. If you don't have the book, the following is GENERAL information. Use it at your own risk since it is based on Prevost info for later model XL's. Jacking point for the front is within the center 30" or so along the back of the spare tire compartment or the front of the front baggage bay. Rear jacking points are just behind the tag axle on the engine mounting rails. Easiest thing to do for work under the bus is to run it up on blocks. Use a 8"x10" timber of hemlock or similar and taper the end to drive up. Alternative is several layers of 3/4" plywood screwed together to look like a set of ramps. It is difficult to run both ends of a converted coach up on blocks due to the weight. One end at a time works pretty well. Be safe. Jim |

AFTER you figgure out how and where to jack the bus , why not PAINT the spots so the fellow at O'dark 30 who never even saw a bus in his life , that came to change your flat , Knows where to stick the air jack? Might save some holes in the floor. FAST FRED |

Jim,......My Crown books do not contain that information. Pages seem to be missing on Chassis. Is there usually a "point" before or behind a wheel that would be a jacking point, or would that probably differ from bus to bus? What about blocking axles? Ideas? Thanx. RCB |

Crown's are totally out of my realm of experience. MCI & Prevost I'm ok with. Hopefully, someone else knows the Crown jacking points. Jim |

Speaking of tire changes on Prevosts with tag axle lift switches. When I had my tires changed they had me pull one drive wheel at a time up on two 2 inch thick boards to raise the tags wheels on that side. To raise the drive wheel s we raised a tag put boards under it and lowered the tag to raise the drive wheel. |
