I have a friend who installed R&M Eagle 10 front and rear caps on his NJ Model 20. The front cap went on just fine, but the rear cap DID NOT! Had to cut both upper corners and refiberglas because the curve or the width of the cap didn't match the bus. Has anyone else installed R&M Caps on their Eagle 20 yet. Did you have this problem with the back cap. I'm going to speak to R&M and I post what they say. |

I am out of my league here so don't quote me on this. . . but I thought I may have read somewhere on these BBs that the NJ transits were ordered with additional headroom? If this is the case, might affect a standard cap fitting properly? Just a guess. Scott |

Hi Folks: Something you have to remember is that when talking to a supplier, it is important to state that you are working on a (N.J. TRANSIT) Eagle Model 20. Why???? Because the Model 20 that Eagle built for N.J. Transit is unlike any other Model 20 built!!!!! In 1989 N.J. Transit had a bid on the street & wanted more MCI's. Bids have to be written broadly enough (especially when Federal funds are involved) so that all manufacturers can be responsive. Well, N.J. Transit wanted MCI's & Eagle wanted the business so as close as they could they built and Eagle/MCI. The rear end of these coaches remind me of horse trailers as they installed the A/C apparatus above the engine. In fairness, R&M may or may not know this????? By now, R&M may know about these 150+ special coaches, if not then those of you who are talking to R&M should make a definite point to mention that you do not have a standard Eagle Model 20, but rather a Special Built Model 20 for N.J. Transit. I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!! LUKE at US COACH |
