will a 1000 watt 24 volt power inverter (hooked directly to the 2 12 volt 8-D batteries that are conected in series to create 24 volts) drain those batteries while the coach is running does the altenator put out enough power to run the inverter and keep the batteries charged?

Typical Delco-Remy 50 DN Generator:

is geared 2.93 (spins 2.03 faster than the crank)

can produce:

170 AMPs @ 1800 RPMS (614 engine RPM)
250 AMPS @ 3000 RPMS (1023 engine RPMs)
270 AMPs (without a regulator)

so even at IDLE (600 engine RPMS) that approx = 4000 wattts max available and 6000 watts a engine RPMs of 1023

Diesel engines that almost no watts to run -
-but-
Bus A/C evap and condensor motors take over 2000 watss (RTS bus - HIgh/full load)
