On an MCI 102 A3 with Budd wheels is it necessary to install longer studs on all axels when changing from steel wheels to Alcoas ? I once saw a post stating that only the axels with single wheels, ie: steers and tags needed to have longer studs installed. True or not. Thanks. Bob |

Most folks do not change inner duals to Alcoa but keep a matching steel wheel in its place. Nobody can see the inner wheel anyway. So, if you do this you need not change the stud, but may have to use a longer inner nut. tg |

It has been covered many times right here. You need only to buy the special nuts, not studs, even if you put all alcoa wheels on. Usually the local shop will not tell you this, as you will go give a little of your money to the local truck parts store, rather than lots and lots to him. |

they also make a plastic ring that goes in between the steel and alcoa. this helps the alcoas last longer |

Just make sure your wife doesn't get a new stud. |
