I think yahoo mail and maybe some other mail pgms has a virus going around that is getting in your address book I get at least 1 to 3 a day every day its mostly RE: Your docoment. I dont know how it get started but I know if you have any address of contacts in a address book from a yahoo or any other e mail program I would deleate all of them and save them to a note pad or some other type of file that is not tied into your email pgm. That would be the only way to stop of accedently sending virus to every one in there. I see a lot of posts on groups the people can not reach them by email I think one reason is your email address is now put in with the spam becouse your email program set out 100's of BS emails or after the person recived lots of spam from you that you did not know you sent Then they block your address and now you try to send them a real email and they dont get it now. So I would deleate all you addreses off you email program and maybe this will control the RE: your what ever Virus and spam. And if any one got any thing from me I did not send any thing to any one. This is a known Worm. It is called "W32/Netsky.k@MM" and it is documented in many places, including here: http://vil.mcafeesecurity.com/vil/content/v_101084.htm The worm infects your PC and sends mails using its own mail engine. Yahoo is decidely not involved, nor can it be -- the worm has no way to log in to your Yahoo address book. Deleting addresses from your email program will also not fix it. You need to run virus removal software. Generally, running a virus blocking program such as Norton Antivirus or McAfee will prevent infection by this type of worm in the first place. It's $30 well spent. -Sean |

I might add that YOUR computer may NOT be the one infected. You can download several different free scanning tools. The one I use in particular is AVG and it works very nicely... The thing about the worm is it assumes new identities. If YOUR address was in someone's address book WHEN they were infected... then, the worm can and WILL use YOUR identity as a sender... thus, putting you in the line of fire for angry responses, when you are not, in fact, the one sending them... I should know. I get dozens of these bogus virii mail weekly.... I've come to just writing them off as spam and ignoring them. Just get a free scanner like AVG and you should be set. I might also add that Netsky is NOT the only one that does this. I've had different worms reported in "my" sent email... just depends on the time of day and which way the planets are aligned. ;) Cheers! -Mac |
