Are the seats ,washroom or windows from an mc9 of any value ? What did you guys do with the insides of your bus. The landfill can only hold so much! |

I gave all my seats to a friend of the family that knows a welder... he's going to have legs welded on the frames of the old seats and use them for lawn chairs and stuff... At least they didn't go to the landfill.

Windows are valuable, as well as the seats if they are in good shape. Try selling them on e-bay. Fred Hobe Conversions may be able to use them 850-929-4021. Or you could donate them to a local 2nd hand store. |

Call any church.... Baptist church, in particular... They all
seem to know who has a church bus that needs seats, etc.
Make the price low, or give them as a donation and take
it off on taxes...
The windows and window frames are worth bread. To use
the Pennensula window, you'll need the original MCI frame.
Their window goes inside that frame, after the glass is removed.

MC-9 Insert Window Installation Instructions
1. Remove the original windows from your bus by releasing the inner emergency handles
and removing the hinge pins located on the outside of the bus at the top of the windows.
2. Remove and discard all the original glass and inner frame rubber from your old window.
3. Using a band-saw (saber-saw or similar tool) remove the inner lip within the inside of
the window frame cavity. This will now allow for a flush dimensional opening to insert
your new window.
4. Apply a sealant (typical type automotive sealant or closed cell foam tape) to the outer
edge of flange of your new Motion Window. This will become the primary seal between
your new and old window frames.
5. Insert the new window into the original frame you just modified. If the new window
seems too large to fit into the original frame, you haven’t removed enough of the inner
lip to allow the new window to slide completely in place. Take time to ensure the new
window frame is centered within the original unit.
6. At 4” from each radius corner and center of the of the frame flange top and bottom,
drill holes through the flange of both windows using a #29 drill bit at 5/16” from outer
edge of flange.
7. Carefully enlarge holes in the top flange to 3/16” Install #8 x 1/2” stainless steel
screws (not provided). Do not over-tighten screws—this will bend the flange.
8. You are now ready to re-install the windows on the hinges using the original hinge pins
you removed. It is advisable to lubricate the outer seal to ease unit back into hole.
9. Check to ensure that the original seal on the inner lip of you wall is in good condition.
If not, contact MCI Service Parts, Inc. for replacement.

WOW, that's a lot of expense and you still have to do all that work, for every one of the dang things!? Seeems like they would be ready to go at those prices. If/when I ever deal with windows, RV parts seem like a good option. |

Call local charter companies. I sold my seats for $950 and my three video monitors for $450, to two different small charter co.'s. |

Hi David
I have a prevost so my experience isn't exactaly like yours but I sold on eBay my seats for $1200, my a/c for $1800, my video set up for $550 and then sold all my scrap metals/screws for another $250 at a local scrap metal shop. Well worth the eBay fees. Good Luck

Naww. Actually after checking around, dual paned, tinted windows
with screens, that fit the openings of the original MC9 window, would
cost more from any other manufacturer. And it's almost impossible
to find used windows to fit that size of window!
Penn glass will install it into your frame, if you ship the frame to them.
It's a lil' cheaper to just do it yourself... But I may ship my frames... |

You can also drive to the factory for any window installation. If you're coming to Bus'n 2005 in Rickreal, Oregon in July, Vancouver, WA is only a few miles from the rally.

Save the frame , and get a local window co to install AWNING windows.
These CAN be left open in the rain , as coach windoes cant be.
Many Rainy days are in reasonable temp ranges, where its not necessary to seal up and breath canned recycled air cond air.

Fred, I'm with you. We decided to keep our original Eagle windows which are very well constructed and are awning type. Will use skylight operators (flat chain coils up in operator but is rigid when cranked out) (NO COMMENTS TwoDogs!) to allow them to open about 8-10" at the bottom. We will be able to have inside screens with this configuration, too.
