Well guys my days in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas are numbered. I have been transferred to the Atlanta area and I will be driving my Eagle there in the next two weeks and using it as my temporary home while the Realtor sells my Texas home. Who of you are in the Georgia area? I will be working the 11 southeast states. The good thing is that I will be much closer to Jack Conrad's pachanga and will likely start socializing with you fellow nuts! I will be passing from McAllen Texas to Atlanta beginning April 19 so if you need something transported, human or otherwise, speak up. I will post some recent pictures of the inside of my Eagle in the next few days as it is beginning to look pretty cool. - Greg |

We're in Franklin, NC (the bus is here). That's on the NC/GA state line (On 441 north of Glenn in Tallulah Falls). At least we're here until Monday when we head out for Cordele Ga (Georgia Veterans State Park) for a couple of weeks. Then it's back to Franklin??? |

CCEA is having a bus gathering in Myrtle Beach May 19 to 25th. I seem to remember that you have a NJ Model 20. And it would be good to have another 20 to look at. I might even have my cruise control working by then. |

It is going to be nice being near other busnuts! I will likely be at your event Jack. Thanks! Art, I will likely still be air commuting back to Texas on the weekends so I won't be able to come to the Myrtle Beach gathering. I will keep it in mind for next time though. Thanks for the overnight offer Jim. I may take you up on it depending on the time of day I leave town. If I leave early morning I will likely drive 12 hours before I hit the rack. You never know though. |

I have been so busy but I am finally getting back to this thread. The trip was absolutely perfect with no issues at all. The Eagle really eats up the road. THe first day I drove from McAllen, Texas to Gulf Port, Alabama and I decided to catch some shut eye. I drove 70 on this leg and averaged between 5 and 6 MPG. The second day I drove the rest of the way in to Atlanta but on this leg I drove 55-58 and netted nearly 8 MPG. Makes a huge difference for sure and I will consider driving 60 on vacations of the future. I overnighted in a flying j parking lot and dry camping was great and didn't even make a dent in the battery bank. The Eagle 20 has such a great ride. |

Luckily I can tell through all of the rust that the ratio is 3.73:1. What bus do you own right now Don as I need to pick on you a bit. The engine is a DDECII 6V92TA and the transmission is a HTB 748 which is a 4 speed with lockup and no overdrive. |

Well then either you are ashamed of your bus or you don't currently own one. Come on, fess up so the teasing can begin. |

OK Greg, my back is to the wall. As most all know, I am "between" buses right now, but expect that to change. I am currently working up a test plan sorta like two dogs did, I am hoping someone will donate me a bus shell, and someone else a conversion job. I will then drive this test bed around the country (on donated diesel fuel of course), and report regularly on the acceptability of various installed options, mpg, performance, etc, which will provide valuable data for the board readers. |

Well then, though shalt not teaseth brother chariot owners (even the ones with rusty eagles) when though hast not possession of ones own chariot (not even a rusty eagle). I do, however, like your two dogs financial plan for obtaining your new cage. Do you think old two dogs is that smart that he planned this caper all along? An idling bus won't do him much good though but maybe he actually has another phase to this parts finance plan??? I am not sure that you can pull it off Don but I am pulling for you. |

Jeez, and here I thought I was grandfathered in on that. Just to set the record straight, Greg has the most UNRUSTED Eagle I have ever seen, in fact it would be a prime candidate for my "test bus", don't you need the tax writeoff Greg? |
