Planning a trip to see the mouse, figure we would stop at Kennedy Space Center first (leaving from Indiana). Anyone have a recommendation of a place to spend the night (in the bus of course) that would be within a few hours drive of Kennedy Space Center?

There's a campground across the water called Manatee Hammock. You can see the Assembly building from there. Here's their website.

When visiting the mouse, we prefer to stay in Disney's Fort Wilderness campground. Really nice campground with the benefit that you can go by the Mouse's bus or boat system & don't have to drive. Good view of nightly fireworks from the beach. Take bikes for everybody & ride from your site down to the beach/store/restaurant/petting zoo/etc.

(Don't tell anybody, but you can also drive your bus to the various attractions & park where the buses & campers park UP FRONT.)

Jetty Park is a state campground right next to pad. It's not too
bad, but bring extra water hose and extension electric cord;
their layout is RV hell. They have a laundromat, ect and all major
stores are a mile away at the most.

We stayed there for one day and went to a small, privately
owned campground at Indian Harbour Beach, called the
Oceanview RV Park. It's located on RT A1A on the corner
of the Eau Gallie Causeway (rt 518).

There's a Walmart across the street, every known convenience
within 6 miles, and about 1/2 hour (if traffic) from Cape Canaveral.
The launches can be seen from the dunes across the street from this
campground. Fees are more reasonable than expected. Pseudo-50amp
service available and facilities minimal. The owner is a cop and the
place is safe as all hell.

(we stayed a year and a half here!)
