Detroit 2 stroke engine oil? Community knowledge:

Hello Busnuts.
A more sophisticated list of oil sources appears to be needed, as the Detroit 2-stroke compatible oil is getting harder for some busnuts to find.
As the topic comes up every so often, here's a resource sticky thread that sits at the top of the Board.
What brand/name/model of oil?
Purchased from which vendor and geography?
With what part number/SKU?
And were there tricks the vendor employee needs to be coached through to locate the correct computer screen in the ordering system?
The sticky thread will allow for updates and commentary as the world evolves around us, and the Bossnut and I will keep it culled to keep the info as current as possible.
happy coaching!

I have been buying the same as Dave, and I believe Brian in Nova Scotia has also. Current price a couple of days ago when I was at Wallmart is 53 canuckies which translates to US 41 dollars for 5 us gallons. Me thinks thats a real deal for as long as it lasts. Come to think of it next time we are at Wallymart we are going home with a few more pails.
Cheapest maintenance is still a regular oil change.

IF it sez CF II and its sae 40 wt you're good to go.
Easiest to find seems to be 40 WT Shell Rotella which still carries the CFII in 40 wt.
Used to get 5 gal pails from the local NAPA or auto discount folks but the Rotella is cheaper at a big box store.
Multi weight oil , any brand ,is NOT OK .

I used to get Petro-Canada's Dieseltonic 40W, CF2, .7% ash, made for Detroit 2 strokes.
Looking through their web site, I don't see it anymore.
It looks like all they have now is Duron single weight. The 40W, with an ash content of 1%, is recommended for a long list of engines, including the Detroit Diesel 2 strokes.
Any Petrocan bulk distributor will have it, or can order it.

Hi bus worrier I don't know your location, but I use DELO 40 and I usually buy it at Tractor Supply, many farm tractors use this oil and I really doubt it will be discontinued. It's a Mobil product and been around for many years. I run a 4104 6-71 4 valve head.

Looking to find a source for your two-stroke Detroit's favorite oil? Try these links:
https://mobildelvac.com/en/distributor-locator
(For Mobile Delvac 1240)
http://www.deloperformance.com/choose-delo/marketer-locator.aspx
(For Chevron Delo 100)
http://rotella.shell.com/locator.html
(For Shell Rotella T)
http://www.citgolubes.com/#wheretobuy
(For Citgo Citgard 600)
For all of these sites, simply plug in the zip code wherever you happen to be and up will pop several choices. Most will be wholesalers, but don't let that stop you. If they say they don't sell to end-users, ask them for a retail dealer nearby who does. Don't take "no" for an answer easily, be politely persistent.

I've always been able to locate Shell Rotella T 40 wt CFII oil in one gallon jugs at NAPA Auto Parts here in the states. If they don't have it at your particular store, they can usually get it in a day. NAPA Part #550019858

Changed the thread into a sticky note at the top of "The Board" and adjusted the title and edited for the long haul...
