I forgot to mention what ever transmission you get you also need the correct flywheel. They all use a different one. I hope when they rebuilt your engine they put in the double lip crankshaft seal. No big deal if not as you can change it easily when you replace the flywheel. Just check the part number they used. Double lip is 8927749. Single lip is 5114335. Single lip number might update as my numbers for it are very old. Double lip is current.

RE: the wiper controls.

I just scored a couple of new ones off flea-bay for a SMOKIN' deal. Mine were also hissing.

I tore my old ones apart and found hard rubber bits and worn metal parts. No easy o-ring replacements in those. See if it is hissing out the vent (very small hole on back) or at the seam between the front and back half.

We have the same controls (I have the new-look maintenance manual as well as the one for my old look). Let's me find all sorts of compatible parts.
