« on: March 03, 2012, 06:47:57 PM »
from woody, a voice in the darkness of an empty DieselChat room asked last week:

woody: I have an MCI 8, with a 6V-92, turbo.  The turbo is leaking oil.  Can the seal be replaced or do I need to purchase a rebuild?  Thanks.

have at it, I hope woody is reading.

happy coaching!

I am with cliff, my turbo for 8v92 had play in the bearings and having it done by people that do it everyday makes sence. Dollar amount is about the figure  in the above post.

Sandy

Any leakage from the compressor / altenator would remain on the outside of the housing.  If it leaks from the hole in the bottom of the housing it would mostlikely be the rear seal.
