Is there a difference in the gallons per milles from the 4106 with the 4905 both with automatic transmission. The buffalo must be a lot heavier i guess. Is that change someting ? Maybe in mountains !! There is a nice 4905 for sale not far from here. But my first choice ever was a 4106! But they seems to be rare here in Canada. I am scare to regret my choice. But the bus is very very nice. I also prefer, 35 feets bus. But he is soooo nice. 24,000$ cdn.
Gosh! Another night with out sleeping.

Both buses have a GVWR of 14,515 kg. As stripped shells, there's probably 907 kg difference in their weights, or roughly the weight of 13 passengers, obviously the 40-footer being heavier.
Fuel mileage difference between the two with an automatic might be 117.6 L/100km at the most. Figure about 33.6 L/100km for planning purposes and you'd be darned close for either bus. With manual boxes, the '06 will squeak out 26.1 L/100km and the Buffalo 31.4 L/100km when speeds are kept around 100 kph. The 4106 has a 530L tank, the 4905 comes with 625L, so a little more range.
More interior space and HUGE baggage bins are a real plus for the Buffalo, vs the nimbleness of the '06.

Thanks for the responses.
6 mpg is is aprox. 8 imperial mpg.
Not to bad.
More inside spaces, more baggages spaces, but you have thoses stairs on the front....grrrr.
And can you tell me why poeple install thoses fiberglass cap on the front ? Is it to have more head spaces? Is it possible to remoove thoses caps to come back to the original front view glass?
Thanks

And can you tell me why people install those fiberglass cap on the front ? Is it to have more head spaces? Is it possible to remove those caps to come back to the original front view glass?
Alain -
Most folk put the fiberglass caps on the front to solve the problem of the upper vista windows leaking. Some just cap the front, others actually remove the OEM structure and increase the headroom - often done when they extend the upper floor to eliminate the stadium seating.
The upper vista windows are extremely hard to find, if at all. I doubt if they're even still available new. . .

We know a buffalo owner in Mesa whose insurance company would pay for the vista glass if he could find one. He has been looking, so far no luck.

I dint know were all theses people who modified theirs busses put theirs old vista glass ? Maybe it is possible also to reproduce theses windows in Plexiglas's. I think that theses glass give a special caracter to the Buffalos. It mus be interesting also to look thrue theses openings from inside. And must of all,i find that the bus look very mutch bigger with theses fiberglass cap.
Ahhhh! Gm build so nice busses !
