THE BOARD / Re: Reverse switch on 4104« Last post by dtcerrato on September 16, 2024, 10:08:59 AM »Frank here's a photo of the reverse solenoid on our 4104s
When you put it in 1st gear and hold the reverse switch on the dash panel and simultaneously move the shifter into 2nd gear the activated solenoid would be moving the shift into reverse. Is your solenoid pulling like it should while moving from 1st to 2nd gear while simultaneously holding the reverse dash switch? If not check the wiring going to the solenoid. That is where I'd start. It could be other things like your linkage but best to start with the simple things, Notice the extended rod on the solenoid arm that extends beyond where the connecting pin to the solenoid pull plunger is, if there is no electromagnetic pull from the solenoid during reverse shift use the extended rod on the arm to manually push the solenoid forward by hand while shifting from 1st to 2nd. If the solenoid is the problem that will get you in reverse gear. HTH 7
THE BOARD / Reverse switch on 4104« Last post by frank4104 on September 15, 2024, 08:12:53 PM »I had trouble getting the 4104 in reverse last week. I have had the bus for 20 years and it has happened before, but has not happened in years.
Anybody know the fix ? Also I read that it can be done in the engine bay, but I don't know how to do it. . Any thoughts Thanks 8
THE BOARD / Re: Replacing Torsilastics on Eagles« Last post by dtcerrato on August 31, 2024, 02:29:53 PM »You did a really fine documentation of the works both times Walter and you are an assett to the bus community besides a great friend. Nice work! I did notice the big difference in what you documented to your actual work was done under less than optimum conditions (outside on natural earth) and solo on your latest R&R! We're looking forward to seeing yours & Cody's Eagles at this year's RAOC rally less than a month away!

THE BOARD / Replacing Torsilastics on Eagles« Last post by DoubleEagle on August 31, 2024, 11:46:40 AM »I recently documented replacing a Torsilastic on my Model 10, step by step, from removal to reinstallation, which is posted on the Bus Grease Monkey forum with seventeen pictures and details about tools required. To access this you need to be a member of BGM, which is free, but you must sign up. The reason it is posted there is because of the tremendous support and interest on that forum when I posted details of an axle removal and replacement last year. The Torsilastic posting is in the Bus Maintenance and repair section, titled "Replacing Torsilastics on a Eagle Coach", and the axle replacement is there as well under "An axle for Cody's Eagle", started in June 2023, and has over a hundred pages of postings.
