THE BOARD / 1959 GMC 4104 stick shifter reinstall

Hello to all . I am in need of advise on the install of my stick shift that i removed to gain access to my underdash electrical issue.(wipers stopped working)The shifter came off easy by taking out 4 bolts and lifting out but reinstallling has me confused as there appears to be 2 ports or docking points for the end of the shifter? Not sure but could this possibly be 2 different positions for shifter ? Any one run across this before im a little puzzled ???Thanks in advance   Jeffrey from Vancouver island

I owe a lot of gratitude to the people on this board that helped me with my 102C3. It was quite an undertaking for my 20 something self to fool around with an old DD but I learned quite a bit. Mainly because I couldn't find anyone local that even messed with them anymore! I thought I bricked it a couple times but everyone told me to calm down and it'll be fine. It was!

Lately, it's been sitting around a bay in my industrial park unit but I plan to move it to some property I bought in VA. A temporary place as I build my "compound".

It's true that these older buses can be a very expensive hobby. Especially for younger guys that don't have the time to dedicate to it or space to store it. But the hard work converting the bus to an RV paid dividends. I learned a great deal that applies to things well beyond the bus.

Thanks to all the old guys that have seen it all!

Aye, I know I need to make a better habit of logging on here.
When the admins of FB groups are the leaders in supporting wrong info...
Moderated spaces, where mistakes are corrected, and foolishness is tossed and banned.
THAT is what this hobby needs.
Trial by fire and natural selection does not belong in the advice columns of a serious hobby such as ours.
Ian, if you would stop gallivanting around the exotic vacation destinations, perhaps lunch with Bill may be arranged?
