« on: March 26, 2013, 07:05:19 PM »
Planning on a visit to the Henry Ford Museum this late spring to early summer while on way to Custer State Park,  then on to the Big Horn Mtns.
Lookng or a camp ground for 2-3 days while at the museum.
Thanks

We went there several years ago and parked (parked, as in looking like parked, no awning or chairs out, etc.) in one of the museum lots.  Nobody seemed to mind, we were there for just the late afternoon/night of arrival, spent the day inside the attraction, and stayed in the lot for the second night, then left.  Don't know if they've changed anything to prevent this.

Linda,
Many thanks, that is the sort of info I was hoping for, being of the cheap & tacky type, then on to the Black Hills and on into ID for ATV riding.
Thanks

Been talking with folks who seem to know theDetroit area, seems The Ford Museum is owned by the city of Detroit now and seems it is for sale as that city is broke until more money is shoved that way from the dumb tax payers.
Also not recommended to spend the night in the parking lot, no problem ith security, just the natives.
Guess other areas are calling a better tune
