Makes sense to conduct from the roof - it lends a birdseye view. Also reminds me of when we steadied the Daytona 500 races every year back in the 70s-80s our nitch was in the infield on top of the motorhome, had a nice deck up there for lawn chairs, oh! & of coarse the cooler!  :)

Jamon. That's a microwave for live video and audio transmission, might also be a transceiver for communications...
