Farewell, old friend - John "Roadrunnertex" Vickers
« on: August 14, 2023, 08:48:47 PM »
Sadly, John passed away on Friday, August 11, 2013.

I do know that he had been dealing with Parkinson's for several years, but I do not have any more information at this time.

John was a retired A&P for American Airlines, and owned/converted a P8M4905, which he and I took to the first Blytheville rally in 2013.

He will be missed. . .

Sorry to hear that, RJ.  I didn't know him, but I do remember seeing his name quite often on the boards.  Would he be the one I bought my new front badge for our 4104, or was that Vickery maybe??
Our best to his family and friends...

Roadrunnertex,

A long time online contributor.

Good fellow.

Out in the passing lane now, hammer's down, limitless fuel supply, with a road that stretches out beyond the horizon.

Happy coaching!

John Vickers once owned the 4905A that I've enjoyed for so long. He saw my entry into the BNO fold from a post  (question?) that I posted lo these many years ago.  He sent copies of pics (b&w) of my bus when it was new to Oklahoma Transportation in front of the train station in Abilene, Kansas. Besides the few pics, I also have several letters from him helping with various and sundry items. A Gentleman and a scholar...he will be sorely missed. J J
